filterchangeIf you’re concerned with getting the best water possible, it’s very likely that you’ve looked into a water filter of some kind or another. Many people even choose to install multiple filters throughout their house. In this way, you can have the cleanest, safest water straight from the tap, at the dinner table, in the shower, and beyond. And while many of these filters are very convenient, they aren’t completely self-operating.

To that end, you should always look into how long you can use these water filtration systems before you have to replace the filter cartridge itself. It really does depend on the brand and type of filter you’re using, but they generally last between six and twelve months. It’s important to get these filters replaced in a timely manner, because once the filter is done, you’re no longer receiving the clean and safe water that you expect from your various filtrations systems.

waterfiltrationWater purification is one of the simplest ways to integrate healthy habits into your diet. Riding your water of potentially harmful substances like mercury and other pollutants is essential to obtaining clean and healthy drinking water. Doesn’t it make sense that the healthier the items are that you feed your body, the healthier your body is? Join the masses of people who already drink cleaner water.

If you believe that healthier water equals a healthier you, you’re in luck. Because water purification is nothing new to drinking water, you’ll have a variety of already developed home water filtration systems to choose from. Among the most popular items is the screw-on filter that you attach to your faucet, the easy-store water pitcher for your refrigerator with a built in filtration system and the filter for the water dispenser on your fridge. No method is better than another, so choose the system that suits you best.

Lamenting a Lack of Pure Water

pure_water“Water, water everywhere, nor any drop to drink.” You might recognize that oft-quoted passage from Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.” Taken in context, the mariner is lamenting the fact that he is sailing on the open ocean with only salt water all around him. Still, there have been times when I’ve uttered the phrase at home without making any intentional reference to literature.

Those were the dark days before I purchased a water purification system. I can still remember the ungodly contaminants floating in my glass of drinking water. In time, the sulfurous stench and displeasing taste got the better of me. I had to make a change. That’s when I went online and started looking for ways to treat and purify my drinking water. These days I wouldn’t even think about using Coleridge’s famous line.

Rejuvenated Water in the Middle of the Woods

cottage-in-the-woodsEvery year in late July or early August, I take my family for a week away from the hustle and bustle of city existence. We retreat to a cottage in the woods of northern Michigan, where we can get back in touch with the simple side of life. The cottage has its share of rustic charms; it seems like the electricity fails about half the time, so we while away the evenings playing cards by candlelight.

But some of the cottage’s quirks are considerably less desirable. The water quality is exceptionally poor, and I installed a UV water purifier to handle the problem. It effectively eliminated contaminants from the water, but something about the taste was still lacking. A friend recommended that I add the Water Revitalizer to my system. It made my tap water more crisp and refreshing. Now the cottage just wouldn’t feel the same without delicious water.

Home Water Purification System Testimonial

Home Water PurificationAfter I moved, the water made my towels and kitchen sponge stink when they dried.  This did not happen at my previous house. So I concluded that there must be something different even though we had the same city water supply.  I spent 12 hours straight searching the internet for a whole house water filter.  Halfway through that time I found something that would enliven the water, not just filter it.  (A year earlier I had decided that I wanted something to enliven the water, but had forgotten about it.)  So I started searching for a good home water purification system to make my water wonderfully alive.  After comparing a few different options, I choose The Original (now called Vortex) Water Revitalizer as the best for my needs.  A friend of mine installed the 3/4″ Vortex Water Revitalizer on my incoming water before my sediment filter so it would enliven the water used for the lawn and garden also.

Right away the odor from the bath towels (12 to 24 hours after using them) changed and reduced in quantity by 60 percent.  The kitchen sponges no longer had any odor.  I was not fully happy with still having 40 percent of the odor that I had before. I wanted near zero odor.  Three months later, I installed the River of Life deluxe model after the sediment filter.  This again reduced the odor by another 60 percent, leaving only about 15 percent of the original odor in my bath towels a day after taking a shower.  That is, the odor in a towel one day after using it would be only one/sixth as strong as it would have been four months earlier.  And often there was no detectable odor at all.

My sister was staying with me when I installed the River of Life model.  She, being a very sensitive lady,  immediately commented that the water was noticeably healthier than it was an hour before.  The Revitalizer appears to have changed the chlorine in the water so that it evaporates faster and is less unpleasant.  For two years I had been driving 30 minutes to a friend’s house to get my drinking water from their well.  After installing the Original Water Revitalizer, I no longer needed to do so because the life essence in my water was similar to that in his water.  With the River of Life model also installed, I feel that my water is now better than his, even though the chemicals that the municipality put in my water are still there, (although not in as obnoxious form).
