With Water, You’re Better Safe than Sorry

water-filterThere are many different options in the world of water filtration. Some people prefer filtering their water through an external water filter, while others opt for fluoride filters to be installed under their sinks. But whatever drinking water system you prefer, it’s important to ensure that your water is the cleanest it can be. There is much debate over which type of filtration system is best for chemicals, germs, or other unwanted contaminants. But again, the important thing is that ultimately you receive clean water.

Contaminated water can come through the tap at any location. It doesn’t matter which state you live in or the neighborhood where you reside. There’s no guarantee that your water is going to be clean. It’s a classic case of being better safe than sorry. Even if you feel like your water is clean, there’s no harm running it through a filter first. Some people have recently become concerned about the removal of fluoride and other beneficial minerals with water filtration, and if this is the case with you, just make sure your toothpaste is infused with fluoride.

If Your Health Is Your Number One Priority You’ll Filter Your Water

Pure water is known to be beneficial to a person’s health and well-being. If the water source in your home is a well, then some form of home water filtration system should be used.  Many contaminants found in untreated water can potentially harm you.  Chemicals that are not necessarily considered harmful can still stain your teeth or cause your water to taste and smell horrible.  So if you suspect that your water is possibly contaminated, it would be wise to install a water filtration system in your home.water

Some reasons to use a filtration system:

1. If your water’s odor and taste is unpleasant
2. If your water is considered “hard” or cannot clean easily
3. If your water source is a well or a municipal water facility
4. If there is a high level of chlorine found in your water
5. If your house and plumbing system is old

The Dirty Water Diary

If you’re like most Americans and worried about making sure your drinking water is clean you probably use waterfilters. And, if you’re like me and have been using a water filter for several years, you probably also struggle with making sure you change your water filter cartridges regularly. If you’re young you may not have any idea how our water got so dirty in the first place.

The short answer to this question is to explain the water cycle. Water follows a natural cycle; it moves rain from the tops of mountains to streams and through rivers to the sea, and then back to the clouds. The water cycle in the United States has been disrupted in many ways. Dredging, damming and tampering or cutting out the ecological niches where water naturally cleans itself. In the long run this tampering has resulted in impure water. That’s where filters come in.

When you’re choosing a new water filter for your kitchen sink you may be confused by the wide variety available. There are so many brands and varieties choosing just one can be more of a hassle than a pleasure. No one wants to be haunted by question of water quality. Countless chemicals and toxins invade our water supply everyday, so getting the right kitchen sink water filter is of the utmost importance. Here are some tips to follow when choosing home water filterswater-testing:

* Not all filters are created equal. Reverse osmosis filters, for example, remove all minerals from the water. And doctors recommend that people drink water with minerals.
* Multi-stage filtration systems have carbon filters to remove chlorine, parasites, and lead, but leave in the valuable minerals our bodies need.
* Multi-stage filters are also environmentally friendly, wasting no water and requiring no electricity.

Fresh Produce Requires Pure Water

Several years ago, my family decided to take a stand against the large corporate grocery chains that are swallowing so many mom and pop shops whole. We started our own small, independent store with an emphasis on locally grown produce and farm-fed meats. We ran into a problem almost immediately, however, when the fresh lettuce, spinach and other leafy vegetables showed signs of wilting.

As it turned out, we had been sprinkling and misting the vegetation with substandard water. Of course fresh produce is only as good as the water and fertilizer used to help it grow, and the same is true for preserving it when it hits a retail store. We budgeted for a commercial water filtration system and started seeing results almost immediately after making the switch.

Take Your Own Bottled Water

home-water-filterThis summer I took my little brother to a baseball game and was astounded by the cost of water. I expected the $8 hot dogs and $55 bleacher tickets, but $4 for a bottle of water! It’s gotten to the point where bottled water costs as much—if not more than—a bottle of soda. How does that make sense?

With ludicrous pricing for clean, filtered water, the best option seems to be to do it yourself. Purchasing a home water filter allows you to have all the benefits of bottled water without the exorbitant costs. You can even bottle your own water and bring it with you.

Hold Your Drinking Water to a Higher Standard

drinkingwaterEven though we occasionally take its plentitude and importance for granted, water is one of the most crucial elements of life. Without it, we wouldn’t survive for more than a few days. In certain developing countries, water’s scarcity serves to remind us of how lucky we are to be bordered by two tremendous oceans and to have access to so many clear-running streams and inland lakes.

While some people are content to take their chances with tap water – which for all we know has been run through a series of dingy pipes and lost most of its natural cleanliness and vitality – others insist on something more. If you hold yourself to a higher standard, you’re probably the sort of person who would benefit from drinking water filters. These devices guarantee the removal of impurities and the necessary revitalization of the water we drink.

The Heat Wave

Like most people, I usually take a cool, refreshing glass of water for granted. In the past, I would drink the occasional sip of water from the tap, blissfully unaware of the harmful contaminants that could have been entering my body. But then a heat wave struck the Pacific Northwest. I began to sweat profusely in the unbearable heat and needed to drink extra water just to replenish my hydration.

All of a sudden, I found myself sitting at the dining room table, actually thinking about what I was drinking. The thoughts took a disturbing turn when I realized that my local water treatment standards are shockingly vague and lax. Clearly it was time to take matters into my own hands. I purchased a drinking water filter that eliminates contaminants and provides me with serious peace of mind.

The Revitalization Advantage

dirty-waterMany water purification systems are fine for eliminating contaminants, but the systems that actually improve water at a molecular level are few and far between. Unfortunately, most household systems purify water without even addressing the question of taste. The most effective water revitalization techniques harness nature’s own cleaning methods.

Drinking water should be held to a higher standard; it goes without saying that water should be clean and easy on the palate. More than that, the best water is packed with invigorating energy, and it is capable of being absorbed instantly into the body. Advanced water revitalization techniques have set this new standard, and traditional purifiers aren’t likely to catch up anytime soon.

Home Water Purification System Testimonial

Home Water PurificationAfter I moved, the water made my towels and kitchen sponge stink when they dried.  This did not happen at my previous house. So I concluded that there must be something different even though we had the same city water supply.  I spent 12 hours straight searching the internet for a whole house water filter.  Halfway through that time I found something that would enliven the water, not just filter it.  (A year earlier I had decided that I wanted something to enliven the water, but had forgotten about it.)  So I started searching for a good home water purification system to make my water wonderfully alive.  After comparing a few different options, I choose The Original (now called Vortex) Water Revitalizer as the best for my needs.  A friend of mine installed the 3/4″ Vortex Water Revitalizer on my incoming water before my sediment filter so it would enliven the water used for the lawn and garden also.

Right away the odor from the bath towels (12 to 24 hours after using them) changed and reduced in quantity by 60 percent.  The kitchen sponges no longer had any odor.  I was not fully happy with still having 40 percent of the odor that I had before. I wanted near zero odor.  Three months later, I installed the River of Life deluxe model after the sediment filter.  This again reduced the odor by another 60 percent, leaving only about 15 percent of the original odor in my bath towels a day after taking a shower.  That is, the odor in a towel one day after using it would be only one/sixth as strong as it would have been four months earlier.  And often there was no detectable odor at all.

My sister was staying with me when I installed the River of Life model.  She, being a very sensitive lady,  immediately commented that the water was noticeably healthier than it was an hour before.  The Revitalizer appears to have changed the chlorine in the water so that it evaporates faster and is less unpleasant.  For two years I had been driving 30 minutes to a friend’s house to get my drinking water from their well.  After installing the Original Water Revitalizer, I no longer needed to do so because the life essence in my water was similar to that in his water.  With the River of Life model also installed, I feel that my water is now better than his, even though the chemicals that the municipality put in my water are still there, (although not in as obnoxious form).
